What kind of carpet is it?

Why we ask

Wool and plant fibers brown or shrink under the standard chemistry, so they get a gentler product and a test patch first. Telling us now means the right chemicals are on board when we arrive.

What's the fabric?

Why we ask

A microfiber sofa shrugs off water. Linen, silk, viscose and anything antique can water-spot or bleed, so those get tested in person before we put a number on them.

Will the carpeted rooms be furnished?

Why we ask

Working around furniture means sliders, tabs and drying blocks under every leg, and it adds real time. Answering honestly blocks the right amount of time so nobody's job gets rushed.

Any pet accidents to treat?

Why we ask

Pet accidents can reach the backing before they are visible. A guess is fine because we check during the walk-through. Deep treatment uses a sub-surface extractor to flush the pad and costs $95 to $150 a room after inspection.

Carpet protector

Applied after cleaning to help spills stay near the surface long enough to blot, especially in busy rooms and on light carpet.

Deodorizer

$20 a room

For rooms with a persistent everyday odor. Cleaning removes the soil it can reach, and deodorizer treats odor remaining in the pile.

Tough stain removal

$45 a spot

Red dye, rust, gum, ink. Each one takes its own chemical and its own method, which is why it's priced apart from ordinary spots, those are included.

Filtration line cleaning

$25 a room

The dark edges along baseboards and under doors, where the house pulls air through the carpet edge. Regular cleaning doesn't touch them; this is slow detail work with its own tool.

Upholstery stain shield

$25 a piece

Same idea as the carpet protector, on the sofa that catches every snack. Applied while the fabric is open from cleaning, so the next spill sits on top instead of soaking in.
