A little care for your fresh clean
Thank you for having us in your home. Start with the instructions we gave you for your particular job, then keep these reminders handy.
Watch your step
Damp carpet can make your shoes slippery when you step onto tile, wood or another hard floor. Keep children and pets away from damp or treated areas until the instructions given for your job permit access.
Let it dry
Carpet can feel slightly damp for a while after wet cleaning. That's expected. Keep air moving with fans, ventilation or air conditioning as discussed at your visit, and keep traffic light until the carpet is dry. Drying varies with the material, moisture left after cleaning, airflow, temperature and humidity. Keep furniture and coverings off damp carpet until the job-specific guidance permits replacing them.
When to call
If any area still feels damp at about 12 hours, contact Kevin. Contact him sooner if carpet feels soggy or an odor gets worse. Call rather than wait if you notice carpet that feels soggy or stays wet, an odor that gets worse or comes back, a sticky or stiff feel or new discoloration. A carpet surface that feels dry doesn't always mean the pad underneath is dry, especially where a spot was treated below the surface.
Leave protection in place
Follow the removal instructions given for your furniture tabs and blocks. Do not put unprotected furniture onto damp carpet.
Appearance after cleaning
Grooming can make carpet pile look lighter or darker from different directions. Some grooming lines ease as the pile settles, while shading can persist. A new mark is not automatically pile shading. Contact us about new discoloration, a sticky or stiff feel, or an appearance that concerns you so we can check it.
If a spot comes back
A spot can show up again as the carpet dries, because moisture moving up through the fibers can carry leftover material with it. Not every returning mark is that. Residue, remaining soil, dye change or a new spill can look similar and may need a look. Send a photo, where it is, when you noticed it, and whether the area feels damp or smells. Please don't add peroxide, acids, strong spotters or more water before we review it.
Keep your cleaning record
Follow your carpet manufacturer’s maintenance and warranty instructions for vacuuming and cleaning intervals. There is not one schedule that applies to every carpet.
